Our Cream Ale is slightly different than most other beers of this style because ours is a little darker. We did this to make it a more flavorful beer since most other cream ales are fairly bland. We used pale malt and some light colored caramel malts to give the beer a deep golden color. These malts also give the beer a full bodied malt character. We used North American, German and English hops to give the beer a distinct hop flavor and aroma. The result is a bold and flavorful ale that can be enjoyed in the spring and summer.

I visited the brewpub and had this on tap. It was amber colored with very little head. This is a very simple beer that is hard to pull off, and they pulled it off. It was very smooth, and highly drinkable. Not too sweet, not to light. Just the right balance. I could have had this all night long.

The selections I've been able to sample from the Abita Select series have been pretty good. This one, while a bit generic, holds true to form.

It pours a decent looking dark golden colour with a mediums sized head that hangs around for a while and also leaves a mild amount of residue on the glass.

The aroma has a sweet caramel ring to it, with a nice malt backbone. Hops are faintly noticeable here and there. Basic, but pretty good overall.

The flavour is again led by caramel, which has more of a creamy feel to it here than a sweet one as in the aroma) although the sweetness is still clearly present. Malt still backs things up nicely and the hop presence is felt moreso at the finish than anywhere else. Mouthfeel is fairly crisp and on the lighter side of the light/medium body line.

This was an easy drinking, thirst quenching brew with some flavour to it. It's a nice summer brew that won't overwhelm you but sertainly won't "wow" you either. Worth a try at the least.

Pours a darker golden with a nice white head. Small floaties are floating around.

Smell is sweet and slightly malty.

Taste has a small sharp hop taste to it, but i get more malts and is sweeter. Aftertaste is a little drier, but still malty.

Mouthfeel is good. Lots of carbonation, Decent balance. body is a little light.

Overall a good beer to have at the bar, simple but tasty. But not all that complex.
