Our Pale Ale is made with Maris Otter Pale Malt from Norfolk, England. Maris Otter barley has been a favorite of English brewers for decades because of its rich color and exceptionally full-bodied flavor. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade hops and fermented it with Pale Ale yeast. The use of our pristine and unaltered Abita Springs water softens the bitterness of the hops. The result is burnish orange ale with a rich body, fruity esters, and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor.

A golden Color and Slightly hazy beer with a modest white head.

Clean hops smell, citrusy , with a malty backdrop. A hint of extract malt.

Basically tastes like a pale ale should. Nice balanced mouthfeel. Lingered just long enough for the next drink

My first Abita, won't be my last.

Another find on tap at Papa Mojo's in Durham, NC, this pale ale is a yellow copper color, clear with a flimsy white bit of head and similar lacing. The aroma is a fairly mild swampy clove banana with some cider highlights. Interesting. The flavor comes on with more of that cider brightness and leafy hops with a very bready backbone. It adds that swampy idea consistent with its' homeland but it doesn't end up being all that appealing to me. It has a medium light body with a crisp feel but a bit too watery and musty to satisfy my pale ale expectations. Sierra Nevada is safe!

Had on tap in a bar in New Orleans:

A - Dark golden color, fair head with decent retention.

S - Hoppy scent but not overwhelming. Floral aromas.

T - More complex than expected, hops balance out a strong malt backbone. Well balanced.

M - Lighter/Medium bodied, well carbonated.

D - I enjoyed this and because it is so balanced it goes down easy.

Had on draft at Abita Brew Pub in Abita Springs, LA. Poured a clean solid medium copper with white head that didn't last too long. Floral, fruity aroma. Nice floral, hoppy, citrusy taste that I liked. Can definitely taste and smell the Cascade hops in this one. Drinkability is way high.
