Pours murky, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is coriander, clove, and wheat. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet. Nice but not mind altering version of a classic style...not going to replace the Belgian versions but a nice warm weather alternative.

The pour is golden yellow. The taste is orange peel along with some mild coriander. Cheers! B

From the neck of the bottle in dull ink which isn't visible unless held to the light: "23044 20:50"
Appearance: The beer has a dark copper appearance which is much darker than the standard Witbier. It also has a short white head which is noticeably shorter than average. The head has a creamy texture and just covers the beer enough to form a slight film which slopes up the sides of the glass.
Aroma: There is a bit of a souring fruit smell and a bit of clove. It smells a bit sickly.
Taste: A strong clove flavor hits the palate up front. There is a touch of wheat tang flavor towards the middle but a much more prominent and standard wheat flavor near the center of the palate. The clove flavor stays strong in the middle. It finishes with a flavor which is a more mild version of what was on the center of the tongue; wheat with a somewhat stronger clove. Aftertaste is clove.
Mouthfeel: It has a body which feels medium-full with a nice roundness on the palate. There is a mild bitterness which tucks away nicely under the malt character of the beer. It is drinkable but a bit on the thick side when it comes to texture, when compared to other Witbier.
Overall: The label on the bottle states that this is a "BELGIAN-STYLE WHEAT BEER" and that it is made "with Orange Peel & Coriander." Neither the coriander or the orange peel make an appearance here, and it doesn't really taste like a Belgian Style Witbier. It tastes a lot more like a Hefeweizen. It is drinkable but it is also a disappointingly misleading beer from Abita. I could drink it again if I was looking for an alright Hefeweizen but I wouldn't buy it if I was looking for a Witbier. I don't recommend it unless you're looking for a standard Hefe.
