You might want to plan ahead with this big, bright, and hazy brew. Ride Share is a smooth triple IPA loaded with luxurious hops. Its cloudy appearance steers you towards big hop flavors of tropical and citrus fruits. Don’t let the high ABV fool you - this drinkable brew is pleasantly balanced with a touch of malt sweetness and slightly dry finish.

12 oz bottle. No dating found.

Appearance. Hazy orange-amber colored body with a good white head.

Aroma. Fruity with an odd sweet fruit punch note and some floral notes.

Flavor. Largely follows the aroma, and that firms out to be a mixed blessing. It has mild bitterness that allows some sweet notes to appear. The fruity notes carry some suggestions of artificial flavoring and very ripe peaches and tropical fruits.

Feel. Medium body and carbonation.

Remember the name ... you might ought to use a Ride Share after drinking this ale that has relatively mild flavor and very well hidden 10% ABV.

A - Very hazy dark orange pour with soapy cream colored lacing.

S - Light sweet malt and candied citrus,.

T - Candied citrus, juicy red grapefruit, some light peppery citrus rind, and residual candied tropical fruit while ending on the sweeter side.

M - Thick and viscous with some warming on the way down and leaves a light, sugary residue on the lips.

O - Really surprised to see Abita do a beer this big.

Abita Brewing Co. "Ride Share"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle coded "23173 12:48". Sampled on 9 October 2023
$2.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE

Notes via stream of consciousness: Every time I drink an Abita I think of New Orleans. Not that I drink a lot of Abita while I'm there, but the brewery is there so... anyway, I'm hoping that this 10% ABV triple IPA doesn't come off like a "Hand Grenade" from Tropical Isle on Bourbon Street. It's poured a hazy golden orange body beneath a short head of white foam and it looks almost like a glass of orange juice. The aroma is sweet and citrusy like orange juice so maybe there's something to the appearance! The flavor follows and although it's sweet and rich like a "Hand Grenade" the alcohol is surprisingly well kept in check. I guess the sweet malt is enough to cover it up. There's a touch to it but that's to be expected, and to be honest, for me if there wasn't a little bit of a bite I'd be disappointed. I'm getting mainly orange but there's also some mango, guava, and a touch of melon. It's full bodied and creamy with just a light zestiness from the carbonation. The head dropped rather quicky at the outset but it has maintained a wide, creamy collar and left some minor spots and splashes of lace. As it warms the alcohol is stepping forward in a big way. That's tough to take as this is a big beer with a whole lot of flavor and not something that you can drink that quickly. I was going to suggest that it's an after dinner sipper or nightcap beer but I'm not sure you want to let it warm up that much. Still, because the alcohol comes on slow you kind of get used to it as opposed to a beer where it hits you on the first sip. I don't know why but I kind of like it. Halloween is coming up and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a cold one here in the northeast so one of these in a plastic mug for taking the kids around from house to house might not be a bad idea. It's also probably good for ice fishing as well, and really anything in cold weather but I wouldn't want one of these in spring or summer.

12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in a can glass

This beer pours a murky amber hue with sediment clearly suspended in it. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves spotty lacing.

I get a big floral aroma. There is orange smell too. It smells like potpourri.

It tastes just like it smells. It's like I'm drinking potpourri water. Very floral with underlying orange and fruit punch.

Thin bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

If you ever craved potpourri in a bottle, then I may just have the beer for you.

So Im new to the IPA world. A friend of mine in Chicago home brews and we went to some of his favorite breweries, Now I really am interested in IPA. This one is up there. but not sure if I will stick with it nice blend. It's locally brewed so more updates as I dig deeper. Triple hops, golden, nice head from the bottle, it's considered a bitter beer but is also citrusy so I think it's a nice bend. 10% ABV

This is a story of two beers. First sniff and sip when ice cold were quite good. It is definitely boozy, and you can taste the 10% abv. As the beer became warms, it loses it's luster. by the time I finished Ride Share, all I could taste and smell was the alcohol. By the time I finished it, I was glad that I only bought a single. Being a fan of more than a few beers by Abita, I almost wasted my money.
