Triple (TRPL) Dog has a very thick, beige head and a dark-brown appearance, with moderate lacing. The aroma is of vanilla and brown bread crust. The flavor of those elements, with fairly-strong bitterness and a good amount of sweetness. Triple (TRPL) Dog has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish.

A bit thin on the mouthfeel for me. Vanilla is present but not overwhelming.

12 ounce bottle - $3.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a slim, light beige head.
Smell: Reasonably dark, sweetish, chocolatey maltiness with touches of caramel couple readily with the vanilla. A few sniffs in and it begins to remind me of Tootsie Rolls, specifically the vanilla Tootsie Rolls, you know, the ones in the light blue wrappers.
Taste: A robust opening of dark malts imparting tastes of grainy chocolate fudge, fire-toasted marshmallows, and simple dark caramel. Of course, there's the added involvement of a big helping of vanilla extract and a fair warming quality from the alcohol content within. Lingering choc-vanilla flavor on the sweetish, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation. A light heft to the overall mouthfeel.
Overall: Decadent and heavy on the flavor and sweetness like a big piece of store-bought cake sold by the slice in the bakery section. And like such, I find myself flagging and wearying of it about a third of the way in.

12 ounce bottle, Julian Date 23346 stamped on the bottle (12 DEC 2023). Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark brown color with a bit of a reddish tinge. There's also about an inch light tan head, head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, caramel, chocolate/malted milk balls, and a bit of coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some dark breadiness and earthy hop flavors too. Leans sweeter tasting but not too strong with the sweetness. The vanilla stands out here, but it's not overpowering which is a good thing here. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and has a good amount of carbonation. Easy enough to drink, too. Thought this was a good overall brew, worth trying some if you're able!

Pours clear, chestnut in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is big vanilla with chocolate and Tootsie Roll. Medium heavy body, medium high carbonation, slightly sweet. What makes this beer good is that the vanilla tastes real. Nice job Abita.

Popping the cap releases the scent of brandy and brown sugar, molasses and toasted pecans. The near-opaque brew pours a deep mahogany under three sturdy fingers of slightly coppery cafe latte foam. From the glass, the aroma has definite banana notes (in addition to brandy and brown sugar) and puts me in mind of Bananas Foster though the latter doesn't also have a hint of circus peanuts. Silky on the sip, cloying mixes with a bit of bitter to give almost a brandy and coke flavor, with a hint of circus peanuts. Weirdly, this is drinkable, even to the light astringency that enters as it exits down my throat. One bottle is going to do me, not sure if for now or forever.

Probably one of the better Abita offerings I had as of late deep dark brown good full inch of foam making for excellent lacing. Taste is very good sweet vanilla toasty brown malts smooth almost milk chocolate body. Very mild hop presence and no alcohol notes. Body is pretty smooth medium but not chewy.
Overall for a under 3 dollar offering it was perfect what a great brown ale

Tasty brown ale. The vanilla is obvious but not overwhelming. It’s somewhere between a stout and a traditional brown ale. Deep brown with a khaki head and lots of lace. Looks good tastes good. What’s not to like?

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This very nice brown pours a dark
brownish mahogany with a very nice head of light tan foam that settles
to a thick ring, thick layer, and displays some nice lacing. Nose of light
vanilla, dark roasted malts, and hints of coffee that are all rather muted.
Flavors pack it in with coffee, vanilla, dark roasted malts, dark bread,
mellow coffee, and herbal hops. Mouth feel is medium, lightly creamy,
smooth, medium light carbonation, and a balanced hop and lightly bitter
malt finish.
Overall.....a very nice brown.....I triple dog dare ya!

12 oz bottles (different days) served in a Belgian snifter.
I like vanilla more than average yet feel that this brown ale has too much vanilla flavor. A load of relatively spicy hops doesn't help ... I think a more fruity hop load would work better.
