this is incredible beer, i now trust avery unequivocally with weird ingredients! they always seem to put odd things together and get something magic out of it on the other side. this is crazy, sour beer in a barrel with pink peppercorns and rose petals. not particularly active on the carbonation, but a pretty color of pink with a little haze and viscosity. aroma is perfume heavy, i get the floral spice of the peppercorns first, and the softer but equally distinct rose petal right behind it, seemingly concentrated on both counts, with some real mouthwatering bacterial acidity as well. the flavor is a shock to the mouth, i mean its just so intensely flavored with these two wild ingredients, it shocks me really. the rose is a delicate flavor but about as concentrated and pungent here as i have ever experienced it, and the peppercorns are more floral than spicy. at first its like a shot of old lady perfume to the head, but it relaxes as you get used to it, and the sour and wood spread it out over a little longer distance and make it digestible. so complex though, and so unique, i have never tasted these flavors in beer like this before. i could see the critique that its too intense, soapy, floral, whatever, but i think its calculated genius, and i am again in awe of one of these far fetched avery sours. these guys are on the next level, there is nothing like this on earth. seek it out, you will not be let down!

This tasted so good, it gets an overall 5. The lacto from the barrel was not overpowering and it combined nicely with the pink peppercorns. The rose petals add an entirely different dimension to the beer. They add a sweetness, almost candy-like, and combined with the pepper note and the sourness, this turned out very complex.
