12 oz can, canned 1/17/22. Pours hazy dark yellow with a huge fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is fruity wheat malt with some resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet wheat malt and fruit with a medium floral resiny bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a nice NE IPA.

Light, almost clear, straw color. Light aroma of herbal/grassy smell, with very slight pine and then, light toast malt. Lightly flavored, moderate hop bite of an herbal type, with a little tangy zest, and a little bit of light roast hops.

i had way higher hopes for this new to me beer from avery, been awhile since i had anything new from them on the hoppy side. id like to say i know what this tastes like, but it tasted so far from fresh that it doesnt even seem fair to judge it, although i could not see a date on my can, stale for sure, over hopped, very bitter while also feeling quite thick, super high alpha. its maybe trying to merge east and west, an already tired story in the genre, and what is left of the hops here is pine and spice intensity, a woodiness that makes it heavy, especially with all this body, and a slight metallic burn at the end, like hot pennies. way in the back in the smell i get a hint of stone fruit and white grapefruit, maybe a gin botanical note, a hint of what this could be like at full potential. the body is big and even though it is well carbonated, its all just a bit too aggressive to really be all that appealing. hoping the hop fade has contributed to this seeming unbalanced and a little sloppy, because i know avery to be a whole lot better than this. i will have to reserve harsher judgement until i can try it again when i know its fresh, but suffice it to say this was highly disappointing in this instance and i am dubious about it now even brand new. this seems like a quality slip...

They were going for a dank IPA with this one, and they got it. I'm not a huge fan of that style, but I figured I'd try it, since I was at a festival and I'd already tried everything else they had on hand. It's yet another hazy, because that's what we drink now, but definitely a different hop blend than their other recent IPA offerings. It's a bit high alcohol for a non-double IPA, but it's Avery, so I trust that they know what they're doing in that regard.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strongest of a tropical fruit smell of tangerine and mango, mixed with other sweet fruit aromas of apricot and peach. Along with these smells comes a bit of a herbal and grassy smell as well as a little bit of a yeastiness and some peppercorn and coriander spice.
Taste – The taste begins with a crackery and bready malt flavor that is mixed with a touch of the fruit that was detected in the nose. Overall, the sweetness was low with it remaining that way throughout the taste. At the start there are also some flavors of a light earthy hop and a bit of herb. As the taste advances the hops get a bit stronger and are joined by some hay, coriander, and musty tastes, to leave one with a slightly drier and more earthy like flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the medium side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. For the style the feel is pretty good and makes for a nice sipping brew overall
Overall – A rather tasty brew overall, with a nice moderate sweetness and a nice, non-citrus based, more moderate hop profile

canned March 12th. Yikes. Damn distributors.
Pours a hazy straw gold with a good long lasting head of foam.
Smells dank, grapefruit citrus, some sweetish fruity notes along with the strange semi malty nose that comes with older IPAs.
Dank taste, the grapefruit citrus and tropical fruit flavours are subdued with that old tasting malty taste replacing them.
Great mouthfeel.
I reckon that this was a good to excellent drop if it weren't so old.

Single can bought, poured into a pint glass. Hazy yellow pour with good foamy head. Body appears medium, pineapple-juice-like.
Nose is faint citrus (lemon mostly) and light bread.
Taste is much of the malted barley with some pine/ lemon hints. It packs a punch but with that one flavor, with the malted barley reminding me of sipping a cold adjunct light beer, but in the best/ better sense possible- like mild malty earth. An ipa I’d recommend for someone new to trying the style. I’m glad any fruit/ tropical type note isn’t prominent in the mix. This works well enough as it is. Now any dankness is subtle, to me here, but that’s okay I don’t think that’d improve what I’m liking about it
Mouthfeel is creamy and well-carbonated, and it comes off refreshing and crisp with a dry finish.
This is a little better than I expected. Going forward I’d get this again to almost session- good for hot weather like now, but where food was going to be had, especially a shrimp boil or something along those lines.
