White Rascal with lemon.
The nose is an improvement as the notes of fresh lemon stand out nicely. The flavor also has a lemon essence, but unfortunately it's more like Pledge than the genuine article.

Nice, easy drinking light beer with a lemony gingery taste.

12oz can poured into pint glass. Picked up from grocery store as part of a $11 sixer mixer. CANNED ON 02/02/22 printed on bottom of can. Special. Anyway that makes this about 4 months old which is probably a little older than you'd want for this style. Oh well.
Appearance - Hazy pale yellow body. Small white head with light, very patchy lacing with decent stick. 3
Smell - Smells like chemical citrus-based cleaner. Doesn't bode well. 2.25
Taste - Lemon rind dominates. It's not very pleasant. It's just bitter without much else beyond that. 2
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied up front but thins out and becomes watery in the finish. Mildly astringent. 2
Overall - Possibly the worst witbier I've ever had. 2

Poured from a can. Light straw in color with a foamy head and some lacing. Smells of lemon candy, malt, and hints of grass. Lemon candy starts the flavor but ends with a medicine type of flavor. Smooth and easy to drink but the flavor is off putting for me

This is the new Meyer lemon version of White Rascal, but I much prefer the original. It's supposed to be the low-calorie session beer, but it was more like a seltzer or La Croix than a beer. They're trying some new things, but they excel at the heavy beers, not the really light ones. White Rascal is one of my favorite summer beers so I'll just stick with that one instead.

Even rascals can sometimes have some mini me's running around behind them and Avery's White Rascal is no exception. Its lighter, leaner and lemonier version is well suited for a spring arrival.
Little rascal pours with a hazy lemon yellow appearance, crowning with a spritzy, frothy cap. Popping bubbles release a strong lemon scent with hints of light bread and yeast spices. Gentle sweetness is bready and slightly doughy in a dry wafer kind of way.
Pilsner and wheat malts release their bready flavors and feels as the beer reaches middle palate. And its lemon character starts to do the same. A refreshing but light taste of orange peel, coriander spice and soft vanilla peak through the citrus and carry the taste through a fairly watery midspan. Finishing with a mild herbal hop presence, the taste of lemon peels give the late taste a furniture polish character.
Light, refreshing and quite drinkable, the beer needs more dryness and crispness or more roundness and creaminess. Either way would improve as it finishes quite thin and watery in it's current form. A mild taste of sourdough persists in the beer's waning grain profile.

Smells very lemony. Tastes somewhat sweet and leaves a roughy floral taste
