Saw this one on tap today at Avery and, being a huge Reverend fan, I had to give it a try. This one is a quad with guava. Pours a lightly murky orange color, with a huge fruity, spicy nose. On the palate, I get tons of guava, along with orange, which cuts the sweetness and alcohol that is present in the base beer (although I really like that alcohol and sweetness).

On-tap at Blue Palms

A: The pour is a dark amber color, sort of leaning towards brown, with a fairly long lasting off-white head.

S: A really great fruit aroma to this beer. Fresh guava that is slightly tart with oranges and passion fruit, maybe a bit of kiwi. Sweet candi sugar and slight spice notes.

T: The flavor is pretty good also (though not quite as great as the nose). Again, plenty of fruit character with the guava really coming through as well as a fair amount of malt. Some noticeable alcohol, too.

M: The body is medium with a fairly lively carbonation that pricks the tongue nicely.

D: It's too bad the flavor didn't quite match up with the nose, but enjoyable either way. This one was very pleasant indeed.
