Formerly Liliko'i Kepolo
Belgian Wit brewed with Passion Fruit
The same gold medal winning recipe as its predecessor, Liliko'i Kepolo. adding tropical island flair to a traditional witbier and erupting with monumental passion fruit aroma and acidity.

The heavily hazed golden amber yellow beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1 1/4” white head that soon recedes to a thin irregular island of foam, a ring around the glass and some scattered patches of lacing on the sides. Sipping creates scattered patches of lacing. Long before mid-way through the beer there’s only a tiny ring around the glass and a few widely scattered patches of lacing.
The aromas are mostly about the passionfruit (think kiwi, pineapple and just a hint of banana). In the background there’s some coriander and a bit of wheat.
The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the passionfruit up front as the star of the show. The coriander and grains are in the background as members of the supporting cast. There’s a bit of both sweetness and tartness in the background. There’s also some citrus and spice from the orange peel and coriander.
The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied and very lightly prickly from the moderate carbonation. The finish begins as the fruit and sweetness begin to fade, followed by the citrus and spice leaving the ending to some light, dry, fruity tartness.
Overall this is an easily drinkable and enjoyable beer. While the passionfruit is the star of the show it does not conceal the wheat, malt and coriander, all of which remain in the background. A beer I’d be willing to have again and may even go looking for another. Certainly I’d be willing to have two, maybe more, in a row.

Cloudy, yellow color. Nice, white head. The aroma of fruits ( passion fruit dominates) and wheat malt with some acid notes. Great balance of fruitiness and sourness in taste. Thirst quenching and refreshing. One of the best fruit beers I've ever tasted!

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy (50% clarity) light golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 5. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong bread, malts, Belgian spices, tropical, grapefruit, and passionfruit. (3.50)
Flavor: Strong flavors of wheat with a strong and juicy passionfruit and grapefruit, citrus sweet finish. (3.25)
Feel: Medium body, average carbonation, finishes, tart, fruity, and sweet. (3.25)
Compared to Avery White Rascal 2/2024: Pours similar, slightly lighter. Stronger aromas. Far more passionfruit and grapefruit citrus. Less bread and coriander.
Overall: Tons of passionfruit and grapefruit flavors. Tart and juicy. Too much though and sort of overpowers any remnants of a witbier in this one. (Rating: 3.34)

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours hazy yellow orange with a small white head. Smells of wheat and citrus. Tastes of bright orange citrus with nice sweet wheat. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.
