Served on-draught into a 4 oz taster at Avery brewing. Reviewed from notes taken in December 2012.
A: Pours a quarter finger tan floater; no head at all. Body colour is a rich dark caramel-black. Nontransparent; non-opaque. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Milk, roast, dark malts. Simple but quite appealing. An average strength aroma.
T: Dark malts, milk, cream, caramel, and some limited roast. Balanced but simple. Meh. There's nothing unique or special here. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. Quite pedestrian.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Decently carbonated. Okay thickness. I'm underwhelmed.
Dr: Drinkable but lackluster. I wouldn't have it again, but it's decent for what it is. An above average example of the style, but it won't raise any eyebrows.
