Had this at the New Castle Seperation Day Celebration on tap. Sadly served only in a 9 oz plastic cup, but it didn't disappoint!!

Appearance: Aggressive pour gave a nice two finger head that lingered long after the fellow handed me the cup. Amber color with just a slight haze.

Smell: Not overpowering smell: a nice citrus scent with something in the background I couldn't quite figure out.

Taste: A really good IPA with a hop forward taste, orange/grapefruit with a spice, maybe cloves in the background.

Mouth Feel: Great overall feel, full bodied, with a awesome bitterness that lingered well past the initial taste that made me want to have more, which I most certainly did!!!

Overall: I wouldn't call this a double IPA, but as a IPA I thought it was awesome! I wish I didn't have to have it in a plastic cup, but I totally understood the circumstances and thought it really overcame that. It was the only beer that was offered this night that I went back and had a second serving (okay, I lied a third serving) this night!!! Would like to find this on tap at more places!!!

Pours translucent amber-yellow with head sustained at the edges and great lacing. Nose is not overpowering, but a slight orange-citrus with some weird funkiness the might be lemon (and might be from the glass it seems so put of place).

The flavor is there, but the depth is not. It starts out with a Citra-hops-like taste, maltiness to start, but the odd notes from the smell do come in to play (almost a mild tart cherry flavor). Although the body isn't full, there is a good dry, bitter pull on the tongue that lingers.

Not a bad offering, but definitely falls short compared to others out there. Would have again, but wouldn't seek it.
