I had a flight of beers the first time I went to the Brewery. Then I took the Dunkelweizen home in a growler. At home, I transferred into a Sam Adams Pint Glass.
The smell is very primal, kind of a damp earth, mushroomy scent. It is inviting, however, and not offensive. Very natural scent.
This is a very drinkable dark wheat. It is slightly addictive, and has a very round yet subtle flavoring. The blend of cloves and earthy, nuttiness is appealing. Alcohol is well-hiidden making it a perfect beer for casual drinking.
It has a nice mouthfeel, somewhat heavy but goes down smoothly.
Overall, this isn't a great beer, but it's very satiating, and worth a taste if you are in the area.
