Nice malt character with some tropical fruit notes. Very boozy.

I cant put into words really how much I did not like this beer, and I drink a lot of beer and I can and will drink pretty much anything with little complaint. It took me a while to figure how what to compare this beer to and I finally realized its tastes and feels exactly like when you use chloraseptic throat spray when you have a sore throat...it is that bad..not sure if maybe we just got a bad 6 pack but we will be throwing the rest away...

12oz can from a friend. No canning date but this is brand new. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.
Pours a murky russet with a half finger cap of ecrue froth. A sparce lingering haze fans out to a narrow, uneven collar, leaving a few modest dots of lace.
This smells absolutely incredible. Earthy, fruity Brett is at the forefront from the first whiff. Aromas of strawberries, tropical melons, papaya, pineapple and bread peek out from that blanket of Brett.
As in the nose, an earthy blanket is omnipresent in the flavor. Pineapple, honeydew, farmy Brett, blackberries, oranges, caramel and dry grass. This is dangerously easy to drink and gets even better as it warms.
Dry medium full feel with dull carbonation. Brett, berries and melon mKe for an enjoyable finish.
Southbound has given an excellent treatment to one of my old go-to styles. Mystery Ship is a damned tasty imperial red. The Brett brings something new to the style that fully complements the hops. Looking forward to the general release so I can stock up on this.
