12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 10.99/ 6 pack. Canned 12/20/17. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku. Enjoyed 12/27/17.
Pours a hazy pale yellow with a little under one finger of white foam on top. That initial bubble layer shrinks to a patchy film and modest ring around the edges, leaving very little to call lace.
The aroma seems a tad muted but there are notes of passion fruit pulp, cracker and vague citrus.
Tons of juicy passion fruit pervade the flavor. Tangerine, papaya, grass, slightly piney mango and a little bit of cracker. Very little bitterness. This is a super juicy, easy drinker.
Slick, medium light feel with restrained yet present carbonation. Juicy papaya, tangerine and passion fruit linger in the finish.
Another mighty tasty fruited IPA from Southbound. Joker and the Thief is like the juicier, lower alcohol little brother of Picture of Nectar. Glad I picked up a six pack- it won’t last long.
