Our classic IPA dry-hopped at twice the usual rate! Nectaron hops, a new variety from New Zealand, lend notes of overripe fruit and orange creamsicle. Over three pounds of hops per barrel of beer help amplify the hop aroma and flavor in this West Coast IPA.

If your flagship IPA is going to celebrate only one hop, then make sure that it covers all the flavor, aroma and bitter bases. Bemidji employs the multifaceted character of Nectaron hops to do just the trick.
Double Dry-Hopped IPA: Nectaron gets going with a reasonably hazy appearance of golden straw while floating a slightly off-white blanket of froth. Generous aromas of tropical fruit align with stone fruit for a fruit cocktail and botanical perfume. Moderately sweet in its upstart, the malt flavors of light bread, agave and mild honey create a sweeter introduction in taste.
As the Nectaron hops start to dictate the middle palate, the bright and bold flavors of peach and apricot show a slightly under-ripened character. Not to be outdone, a more tropical take on pineapple and passionfruit provide a fruity intrigue. A backdrop of young oranges and grapefruit is almost tangy as the ale trails into a bitter finish of spruce, fresh-cut grasses and peppery botanicals.
Medium bodied and providing a crisp and refreshing texture, the ale finishes decidedly bitter and with a resinous dryness that facilitates drinkability. The Nectaron hops do a nice job on its own, but could use another complementary hop companion to round the beer even more.

L-Very hazy....couldn't shine a laser through this...
S-I get a lot of passion fruit on the aroma...honey dew melons as well...a touch catty
T-Pretty similar to the aroma with a touch of pineapple and citrus.
F-Medium to full bodied....drinks like a typical NE IPA
)-I was excited to try this as this hop has apparently been in the works for a couple decades or so. To be honest I don't notice anything that separates it from the other hops used in this style...It's a nicely made beer but Nectaron has not all of a sudden become my favorite hop or anything like that.
