Our friends at Roy Farms in Moxee, WA hooked us up with super fresh Amarillo and Azacca hops months before we usually have access to the fresh harvest! A light base of pilsner malt and oats lets these vibrant hops shine in this hazy pale ale. The resulting pint is brimming with bright citrus and tropical aromas along with subtle pine and floral notes.

From a crowler picked up at the brewery a few days ago into a tulip. Pour results in a huge 3 finger foamy head that subsides after a bit, leaving fantastic lacing. Hazy and chalky pale orange, with little evidence of carbonation. Amarillo and Azzaca is an interesting combination, and this definitely delivers some goods: bright and juicy tropical (papaya, mango, underripe pineapple) and citrus (orange) notes, with a touch of spice (tangerine pith and pine or something kind of warm and musky in its bitterness). The nose is the best part of this beer: totally would believe the breweries advertisement that these hops are very fresh. Taste doesn't have layers to it, but what you get fairly right off the bat is really good. Pilsner malt and flaked oats provide a nice easy-going platform that supports but doesn't get in the way of the hops, which is where all the action is at. Body is middling, mouthful is pretty soft, juicy but also mellow, which goes nicely with modest and not aggressive bitterness. Could imagine this profile being pretty oily, but that's not the case here. Pretty delicious.
