blend of American pilsner and locally malted corn comes together with German speciality malts to add flavors of toasted bread crust, caramel, and hints of cocoa. This dark lager is full of rich maltiness, but is light enough to be enjoyed in any situation. From the fish house to the ski trail this beer is the perfect cold weather crusher

From a 12oz can. Canned on 11/20/2025
This beer is a beautiful brown color that looks more amber when I hold it to the light. The beer is clear and has a nice steady stream of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There's a 2 finger light tan colored head that has great head retention. There's some very clingy lacing on the glass when the head dissipates.
The nose is on the light side, but I get roasted malt notes hitting my nose. There's also some caramel notes in the aroma.
The beer has a nice caramel flavor hitting my taste buds. I do get some roasted malts in the flavor. The caramel and malt flavors really work well together. There's a slight bitterness on the finish.
The beer feels "warm". Nice body to the beer.
I am reviewing it late spring 2026, but this beer would be a total hit come colder weather in the fall.

Tap pour at JL Beers, downtown Fargo. Served chilled in a nonic glass.
Amber brown colored body. Bubbly and creamy light tan head. Leaves behind an intricate pattern of lacing webs.
Aroma of roasted malts, with caramel and chocolate.
Taste is very similar, with dark bread roasted malts, with caramel and a hint of chocolate. Has a bit of a sour edge. Lingering aftertaste with the malts.
Medium mouthfeel. Clean finish. Very good carbonation.
Solid dark lager with a depth of flavors.
