Appearance: A pitch black beer with a soft tan head. Looks like a stout.
Smell: Big assertion of citrusy hops. Slight, barely perceptible burnt scent.
Taste: Incredibly smooth, well rounded flavors of roasted malts, French roast coffee, and spicy hops.
Mouthfeel: Function calls this a "black wheat" beer, and I think the wheat is evident in the mouthfeel, where it adds a nice soft silkiness and huge body to the tongue.
Overall: A fantastic beer from Function, and one I'd highly recommend.
