The Beers of California
#100
Growler
A: Pours a hazy golden yellow with a bone white head of foam. Can't wait to dive into this beer.
S: Lots of melon up front. A touch of tropical fruit around the edges along with some biscuity malt in the background.
T: A wallop of cantaloupe and stone fruit with elements of honeydew, lychee, pineapple and mango. There is also some orange and tangerine citrus present. A bready and buttery biscuit malt backbone holds things together. The finish is of citrus pith and an earthy tea-like bitterness.
F: Medium carbonation and good cling on the glass. Chewy and uber smooth with awesome drinkability.
O: It's been a while since I reviewed a beer but Ohana really hit this one out of the park. Living in California, I've had a lot of IPA's but this one is able to separate itself from the rest. Lots of interesting elements here and overall super drinkable. Ohana is truly a family run craft brewery. Check it out and make sure to bring a growler. They'll fill any growler by the way which is an extra plus.
