Pours a nice dark brown. Very thick and glorious looking. A nice little head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nice viscosity.
Smells roasty. Maybe a bit burnt but good malty sweetness. The toasty bitterness is maybe a bit strong and Suggs the taste will be as well
Tastes big and roasty. Nice sweet chocolates malt with almost coffee like characteristics. The beer is big. Maybe a bit harsh at times. I'd love to see this with some vanilla or in a bourbon barrel to take advantage of the huge flavours.
Overall this beer would probably be best aged but its a pretty solid stout.

On tap at King's Row Gastropub in Pasadena, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and cookie dough. Taste is much the same with a char flavor on the finish. There is a medium amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but fairly strong.
