Aged for over a year, Surf Shack Brett was the highlight of the four Ohana beers I tasted at the tasting room. It bring a pleasant tartness which isn't over the top, not too dry, and simply pleasurable drinking on its own. This would be a great beer to drink on the porch on a warm, but unfortunately the limited supply meant that I couldn't take home some :-(

Consumed at Boneyard Bistro, Sherman Oaks, CA on July 3rd, 2013.
Beer is light yellow, slightly cloud with a two finger off-white head. The head provides sticky sheeting all the way down the glass.
Aroma is lemony (hops?) and powdery (Belgian yeast?).
Flavor is soft. Powdery yeast, wheaty. Slightly sharp, bordering on cheese and tartness but not much. This is not at all a "sour" ale. Very restrained bitterness on the finish. Alcohol not noticeable in flavor, which is surprising given how mild the overall flavor palette of this beer is.
Mouthfeel is unremarkable: medium bodied with slight carbonation tingle.
Not sure what they were going for here. The bartender said they got two kegs and were going to hang onto one for a while to see what the brett does to the flavor. Good idea.
