The newest release from the Newtown brewery. Not really sure what to expect.
Vessel: 425ml Schooner at the Dove and Olive in Surry Hills, Sydney.
Appearance: Very light yellow-golden. Hazy, but plenty of bubbles streaming to the top of the beer.
Aroma: Trying to ignore the mouthwatering smell of the seafood pasta being eaten at the table next to me...bright citrus hop aroma, typical Pacific/XPA nose. Lemon, lime, passionfruit. Can't smell malt.
Taste: Juicy citrus flavours, strong on the lemon, but there's a bit of passionfruit and mango in there too. Low to minimal bitterness, but low to minimal sweetness. Really letting the fruitness of the hops do the talking here.
Feel: Thin and a bit watery. Typical of the XPA style. It's refreshing however, a d good for a Sydney summer day.
Overall: it's a good refreshing summer XPA. Definitely hitting the right flavour notes. It's easy drinking and highly sessionable.
