The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt to ruddy brown color with a nice transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. No head nor lacing. The smell started off with burnt to roasty nuts and an adequate sweet dark fruitiness running over some light brown sugar. The taste was moderately sweet carrying some Belgian spices over on into a delicate roastiness. Light bready aftertaste. Smooth to semi-dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Overall, it works as a dubbel. I could see myself coming back to it.
