Rich as it is remarkably smooth, you’ll taste a solid dose of rye that boasts a spicy, yet clean, dry finish. Fresh sterling hops create harmony with the malt and offer subtle herbal and citrus notes. The day is long. Kick back and get yourself some Dock Time™.

!2oz bottle poured into a slender lager glass.
A: Nice burnt siena color. Mild chill haze. Fine-bubbled off white head retains at a quartet inch. Thin veil of lacing on the glass.
S: Bread, toasted crust, pinch of brown molasses sweetness and cocoa powder. Touch of earthy hops.
T: Toasty up front with flavors redolent of bread crust. Nutty and rich with a hint of cocoa powder and brown molasses. Earthy and herbal hops come through middle to end, and bring a slight grip of bitterness. Dries considerably on the finish, and leaves the palate quickly as fading flavors of crust, cocoa, and herbal hops trail off.
M: Medium bodied, a touch chewy and rich. Ample carbonation lifts and scrubs stiffly to keep the rich texture from settling in too much.
O: A fairly classic vienna lager recipe dosed with rye to dry it out and keep it drinkable. Thanks to the beer geek collective's current obsession with anything hazy and hoppy, solid lagers like this tend to go unnoticed. Secretly, I think this may be Stony Creek's best beer, and veteran beer geeks who know how to appreciate a lager might just agree.

Moderate head, settles quickly leaving only a few spots for lace. The color is darker amber, nearly brown. Clear.
Smells like a toasted malt amber except for the perfume and sugar presence.
Semisweet and yet deeply roasted malt start. Both rich and highly carbonated. Warming swallow with just a touch of bitterness. Short aftertaste except for the warmth on the throat.
