On nitro-tap 6/25/2016 at Julian’s in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains coffee, roasted malts, a touch of smoke and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a mild sweetness from flavors of coffee and chocolate. Then a hearty roasted malt character comes in along with a touch of smoke in the background. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and a little crisp but a bit watery, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, very mild kick, good representation of style, despite being a “session” beer, it seems too light for a Porter in my opinion.

Had at the brewery during cask night yesterday. Pours a hazy brown color with minimal head from the get-go. Smells of coffee beans and some malts. Taste starts with an initial sweetness, faint on the tongue, next is a hit of coffee bean, finished slightly sweet with a little roasted note. Thin on mouthfeel and light in the stomach. Definitely a session beer and not too bad for the ABV. Could use some more flavor, though.
