In celebration of the coming New Year, we offer No Egrets Imperial Stout.
This bold, pitch black brew is loaded with decadent notes of dark chocolate
and roasted barley. Extended aging on White Oak contributes subtle layers
of vanilla and caramel that lend a smooth complexity. This double mashed
stout has a rich body and warm finish that will inspire you to attack the
coming months of winter with gusto and with No Egrets.

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into a snifter. This is a 2017 vintage that has been in my cellar since I purchased it at the brewery.
the beer pours pitch black and doesnt allow any light to pass through my glass. A thin khaki colored head foams up briefly after the pour to about 1 cm, but fades quickly after the pour.
The aroma on this beer is some roasted malt and a little char, I also get some dark fruit, raisins I think. No hops and the booze is hidden here. in general the nose is fairly mild.
The first sip reveals an average body with gentle spacious carbonation and slightly slick mouthfeel.
Flavor is roasted malt and some dark chocolate and again a bit of dark fruit, but then the roasted malt finishes the beer and lingers a bit after each swallow.
The booze is very well hidden on this one and Im drinking the glass pretty quick for 9.5%..
A nice Imperial Stout, with a thicker body and more robust flavor profile this one would be amazing.
