Birds In Paradiseā¦A Laid Back Sour Series. Occasional releases of Kettle Soured beers inspired by Iconic Tropical Cocktails. First up is Hibiscus & Ginger Gose. It is our interpretation of a traditional Jamaican Drink called Sorrel Drink. We use imported Jamaican Sorrel Flowers (Jamaican Red Hibiscus), Fresh Ginger, Pacific Sea Salt and Indian Coriander. This 4.5% ABV deep rose colored Gose has tart jammy notes from the Sorrel Flowers, a soft body and very subtle saltiness, a hint of fruity floral coriander and the perfect crisp bite of fresh ginger to balance it out.

Poured from a pint can into a tulip style glass. The body of the beer is pinkish in color (from the hibiscus, or ginger, or both?) with a big, light pink head, four fingers deep. Strong aroma of ginger. The first sip is all about the ginger, with the sourness kicking in afterward. Lots of carbonation on the tongue.I don't know if the hibiscus is added for flavor or color, but I won't know what it tastes like anyway. The gose aspect is fairly mild, not overly sour. Interesting brew but I don't think I would try it again.
