Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light gold color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, Earthy hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts out with a strong hops bitterness followed by some mildly sweet flavors of caramel and citrus. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid IPA to pound down for a while.

Gold with creamy white head that sticks around and sticks around. Smell is surprisingly malty for an IPA, but not in a bad way. There is an herbal and citrusy brightness above a bready and honeyish sweetness. The taste is along very similar lines, and is very evenly balanced. The mouthfeel is super smooth with just a bit of prickliness from the hops, and the finish lasts quite a while in an enjoyable decrescendo.
Overall a very enjoyable beer that probably fits better into the Pale Ale category than the American IPA that it claims to be. The simple-malt-with-Cascade-hop formula still works well, and this one carries it across with a nice mouthfeel.
As a native Rhode Islander, I don't know if I should just be happy that another brewer is catering to the (401) area code crowd, or if I should be bitter that the brewery is from CT and is just pandering to different area codes to confuse consumers into thinking they are drinking the local choice.
Bottle says: Born on 4/24/2013 Thanks for the freshness dating!
Bottle does not say: Alcohol percentage. Had to find it on the website. Please help your customers drink responsibly by including ABV on the label!
