Format: had a 250mL taster at Beervana 2014.
Appearance: poured a light orange-amber with an off-white head that lasts for a time before dropping to a rocky and creamy half-finger.
Aroma: definite Belgian yeasts, which accompany sweet apples and pears, with some earth and yeast. Very promising.
Taste: the earth and sweet fruits take the fore here, with the yeast and earth still noticeable. A sugar sweetness also - interesting.
Aftertaste: more earth on the finish, with a bit of a fug from the yeast and some bitterness from a malt of some kin that I couldn't pick out.
Mouth feel: medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation. The sweetness from the sugars and the fruits got a teeny bit cloying on the finish.
Overall: quite a nice Belgian Strong Pale Ale from KererĂș - nicely rounded with good flavours and a good drinkability. It would be a touch expensive to get out to Australia (well over AU$120 from their local prices), but hey. It's a nice beer.
