This beer pours a light amber color. The head was insane when poured from the glass, off white and a whole hand in the pint glass. At least it dissipates quickly. The nose has a pleasing hop aroma, but it isn't overpowering. The taste of this beer is fairly mellow, at first, then the hops kick in. Nice pine, and citrus flavor. Not very watery feeling. Overall a good beer, except for the explosive head.

Appearance: lightly hazed, bright amber/golden hued, slim, but staying creamy white head.
Aroma: citrus and pine are here aplenty, with the friends in the stone fruit category and a dash of the tropical. None too bitter, and particularly pleasant.
Taste: Mmm. Yeah. It works. Lightly bitter, sweetly malty,lean-bodied and smooth. Apricot and biscuits. Tasty stuff. Long, hoppy finish. Toasty and fruity together.

Hell of a lot of flavor for 4.something alcohol.

L: Excessively foamy with a hazy amber under a 3” persistent rocky off-white foam cap that billows over the rim and down the side of the glass.
S: Spice and citrus, faint malt, hop aromas are medium and the malt aromas are medium low.
T: Rich, fruit, grapefruit rind, lightly sweet, some bread crumb, mildly bitter, drying finish. Hop and malt flavors are moderate. A light tartness on the finish.
F: Creamy, medium body, medium high carbonation.
O: Very flavorful and easy to drink but excessively foamy.

Serving glass: Poured from can into IPA glass.
Appearance: Hazy, fiery orange with good-sized head and decent lacing.
Smell: Seems English at first, with biscuity, fruity and spicy notes. As it warms, I notice more citrus and hop oils.
Taste: Malt body of biscuit, tea, caramel and dark fruit - somewhere between English and American ales. The hops are all American, with citrus, pine, hop resin, and lots of bitterness.
Feel: English once again. While the body is light, it has that firm feel of an English Bitter vs. the thinner feel of an American Session IPA. Moderate carbonation. Very dry finish.
Overall: Fantastic mix of English and Session Ales. Tastes more American, but feels English. Best of both worlds. My only complaint is that the high bitterness makes it hard to drink as fast as a Session Ale begs to be drank.

I do not think American/English IPAs usually work. But this really well executed. Best beer by Northgate that I have had. Love the malt and hop choices.

Northgate calls this an American Session IPA. It's 4.4% abv, 50 BU's, slightly hazy and golden orange. Wonderful fruity, floral nose with gram cracker malts peeking out from behind the hops. Sharp hoppy start, tongue coating. Sweet caramel malt mid sip, and pleasantly bitter at the end. Dry and quick. Some tannic apple notes there as well, which I would attribute to the yeast. I like lower abv IPAs, but they often leave me wanting more malt. Get Together on the other leaves me wanting another Get Together.
