one of the most highly nitrogenated beers i have ever seen. pours from the tap at the brewery like milk, and doesnt settle into its relaxed cascade for at least a minute, its to turbid and airy, its crazy. eventually it mellows out and reveals a light golden body under the creamy tan nitro head. the beer is a little bland, the grain is loosely english but doesnt have much flavor or body to it, while the hops are really only there in the finish. its not quite as old school and authentic tasting to me as a boddingtons, but thats the niche it appears to be trying to fill. its a little watery even with the nitro, and it lacks the english yeast character i like in the style. its pleasingly dry though, and i could easily see this as an all day session type beer. we were drinking strong ales most of the day, so a pint of this really hit the spot just as a drinking beer. i liked the beer at northgate pretty well, but this was easily the least impressive of the ones we had. cool place to drink a beer though, and its nice to have these pale styles on nitro sometimes.
