The Mt. Wilson Wheat Beer is on tap at the Crown City Brewery in Pasadena.
When it arrives, itÂ’s a very watered-down yellow color. Light head that soon dissipates. The aroma is barely perceptable, a deep nose reveals light smells with some citric hints.
Tastes are very disappointing, light airy and fresh but low in strength. Mouthfeel is low and this does mean that it is easy to drink, but the lack of any real wheat beer tastes means that it is not that drinkable. Finish is very clean and crisp.
For me this is just too thin throughout, thin on color, flavor body and finish. The Beer itself is refreshing but it is really way too light for this style in my humble opinion.
Stick with the much better Stout if you fancy a Crown City Beer. I'm with Mickeymac though, there are too many other better beers on Sale to try in preference to the house-beers.
Tried on 1/25/03 during the BA Pasadena Crawl.

The color's a bit on the light side: yellowish, almost gold. The smell and taste are equally light. Some of our group noticed a buttery flavor, but it didn't do anything for me. The mouthfeel was definitely on the thin side. I think I'll try the stout if I go back. However, to be honest, they've got too many good beers brewed by others to be tempted by the CC beers.
