Bottled spring 2016; drank 9/8/16 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque purple/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice eggnog head; thick lace.
Clove, caramel & black licorice notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium thick mouthfeel.
Clove & apple cider flavors up front; caramel & mild, dry booze heat notes on the finish.
Smooth with a clove bite; drinkable but far from memorable. Not one to seek out.

I was explained this beer by the bartender at the source to be their awesome awesome awesome 1904 Wild Ale aged in red wine barrels. Most definitely wine forward. It overwhelms the Brett just a wee bit & I wish it were a bit more sour, but given some age on these kegs, this beer has potential to be better than great. I still prefer the base beer to this but this is no slouch. Recommended if you can find it.
