Didn't know what to think heading into this one. Love base 1904. Cranberry was disappointing. Pineapple sculpin was disappointing. So . . . who knows what lie ahead. Pours a similar yellow to the base 1904, but this one seemed to have plenty of pineapple puree floating around it. Smallish 1/4" white head. Aroma hit those brett and pineapple notes. Enjoyable, but you aren't getting the drier farmhouse vibe once the pineapple gets in there.
Taste, similar, more of the base perceptible compared to the cranberry, but the pineapple sweetness does obscure it partially. Still enjoyable and you still get a well carbonated, light bodied, slight hay and grassy barnyard vibe, but it gets the dripping with sweet pineapple treatment. I'm glad I checked it out. Don't see paying $15 a bottle or more for it though.
