4 pack pick up, pours a dark golden orange. Are you ready for the malt country? 1/2" off white head, pretty dense.
The aroma hits those malty candied orange notes, crystal malt, Citra hop. Or not. That's what it smelled like and tasted like. The taste comes at you the same way, caramel crystal malt, bittering hops, Citra and Centennial would be my guess here. Pine, orange, caramel. That's it. Carbonation was fine, but I'd prefer a tad bit more psi for something like this that has a throwback Icky IPA like malt base. I dunno, maybe Northern Nevada likes their ipas heavy and malty. Sometimes we're behind the curve trend wise. There were no off flavors, and this appears to be what they were going for. In a way, its the rare occasion that an ipa is truthfully told to be 'balanced' although I don't want a balanced ipa, I want it hoppy, disproportionately so.
I'm convinced they came up with this beer name by crossing over with a euphemism for cocaine. Hey bro, can you score me some Sierra Candy?

A West Coast I.P.A.
Light orange/amber look. Aroma is very light, but is a good mix of candied malt & tangerine peel with an off-dry note. Moderate citrus hop bite on top of a good, medium toast, caramelized malt.
