Love Firehouse Red, it’s one of my favorite reds out there. Great tasting and not too tough on the head when you’ve had a few.

Had on tap at New World Tavern
Appearance: 1/4 inch head, moderate carbonation, copper in color, hazy
Smell: hay, dark fruit, and light rye
Taste: Apple rind at the start followed by bready toasted malt, slight hay, and a touch of bittering rye at the end
Mouthfeel: sweet start and body with the slightest touch of bitterness at the end, medium-heavy in body, moderate carbonation
Overall:Complex and interesting...Like a good dubbel with a touch of rye at the end. I would get this again. The best beer from the brewery I have had to date.

A great example of a Belgian red.
A - A beautiful, clear amber orange.
S - Phenols and all the expected Belgian fruitiness.
T - Spot-on. Rolls across the tongue with a quick hit of Belgian esters, with notes of orange, banana, and perhaps peach.
M - Smooth and slick, as one would expect from a rye ale.
O - The best beer this promising brewery has put out, so far. Really top-notch, a drink you can knock back again and again.

On-tap 7/1/13 at Battleship Brewhouse in Fall River, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light golden brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, spices, Belgian yeast and some fruit.
T: The taste starts out very bready with flavors of rye malts and Belgian yeast. Then some caramel and fruity sweetness comes in. The hops presence is strong but not over-powering and brings some balance. The after-taste is bready and slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty with some nice complexity, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good variation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for something different.
