Had this on tap at the brewery (during the summer, but the impression stuck with me this long).
I was briefed by the folks here that this was brewed according to Reinheitsgebot traditions - if this is the case, I will prefer my Berliners less traditional in the future. The aroma on this is closer to barf than I've ever had in a beer before. I really struggled to get this down. This is all cheese and feet. I came to Blue Lobster expecting some of the best beer in New Hampshire, but based on this I quickly went elsewhere to continue my pursuit (Stoneface and Schilling were much more exciting).

From a bottle, pours a watery light straw color, very carbonated with a fizzy pure white head.
The nose was very tart, lemon notes, some cheese, earthy funk and a fair amount of feet (not the good kind). The flavor is a bit weak and non-present. It tastes almost watered down. The cheese flavor goes away as it warms, but leaves mostly a lemon, butterscotch and salty tartness. The finish is clean, albeit a bit salty and just a bit of tart fruit citrus rind bitterness.
I have to be honest, this isn't very good. Maybe it was a bad bottle, but this was a BIG miss.

Bottle from Bert’s
Pours the lightest color I’ve seen since Zima, an extremely pale straw with a decent sized bone white head. The aroma is a mix of pungent Parmesan and blue cheese. I can’t find anything else behind that. The flavor is a little better than the aroma. Lemony tart bubbly maltiness but the funky cheesy flavor lingers on my palette and keeps me from wanting another sip. Light body moderate carbonation. I’ve never been a fan of this style, but my God this is horrible.

I let my glass sit and after a little bit most of the cheese dissipated and I adjusted my score up a bit because it wasn't so bad after all.
