From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled August 8, 2015. This may be the last review of this beer as Blue Lobster announced in August 2015 it is closing its doors.
Very heady pour over a medium amber color with lively carbonation and modest clarity.
I think this is the 2014 batch and aging has not been good to it. I really pick up a kind of roasted milk chocolate note on the nose ahead of anything else.
Thin to medium body.
Definitely a sweet malt character in the flavor but it tends to remind me of chocolate rather than toffee of caramel as I expect from the style. Mild to no bitterness.

Bottle from Bert's
Deep reddish brown color with a small bubbled medium sized off white head that leaves some respectable lace on the sides. Rich bready caramel maltiness with a hint of smoke and juicy pitted fruits. Sweet and fruity with light caramel maltiness and a hint of smoke and light aluminum foil. This recipe needs a bit of work, might be an ale yeast? Felt like more caramel malt sweetness than Munich and the fruitiness is totally out of place for the style. Not as rich as it should be.
