L- Mid amber, pours with a tiny bit of haze to it plus a 3mm white head. ps when I came back 10 mins later to pour the last 100ml from the can then some notable sediment came with it.
S- The smell reminds me of a German Marzen style beer a richer/rounded smell + hints of wheat.
T- Briefly malty then a dry and piquant aspect rushes in and overtakes it. It has a subtle but distinct facet to it - I really wish I'd have managed to (as I usually do) taste this knowing only the brewery and beer name. I checked the can for the ABV% and so saw right on the front two off-piste ingredients in ALL CAPS right under the beer name. Both unusual, I think I've only ever had each, just the one time and separately in different beers. If blind tasted I'd certainly been struck by one of them (I won't say) which leaves a long and lingering zing across the roof of my mouth - very different!
F- It has some meat on it's bones, some richness. Carbonation is good, lacing is being formed down the side of the glass. The spice adds an unusual aspect to the Feel, one that's not adding anything for me beyond being a curiosity.
O- Something slightly different and interesting to try. The two feature additions are unorthodox, one very distinct but they likely won't be over-prominent for the majority of people. That said the overall result is quite off-piste and it's not the kind of experience that I'll need to re-buy and have again.
440ml can BB: 02/09/2021 Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
