Back in 1999 Szigeti brewed beer for the first time according to the “Méthode Traditionnelle”. Instead of using normal brewer’s yeast, traditional champagne yeast is used for the final fermentation in the bottle – just the way sparkling wine is produced. A refreshing and zesty thirst quencher which reminds one of wheat beer is the result.

August 2016: 750 ml corked & caged green bottle, as Szigeti Beer Herb, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Pale golden colour, huge white head. Fresh and strong aroma of newmown grass and herbs. Light bodied. Medium dry flavour, some yeast and herbal hops. Does not quite live up to the expectations from the aroma.
