It's pretty much a Cream Ale Light in terms of taste. Fairly muted. I had it on tap at Short or Tall in Rogers. Not bad for $4 a pint but wouldn't get it again.

Nicely made cream ale. Easy drinking and not assertive with the hops or malt. Leans towards the malt with a touch of corn...hops bring in a distinctive herbal impression.
Body is light to medium. Firm carbonation.
Overall, a well-made nice, approachable cream ale.

Had Dead Branch poured from 25.4-oz. crowler, hand-labeled Date Filled “8-12,” purchased that day at the Jack Pine taproom, Baxter, Minn., into clear plastic water cup.
Creamy and fruity, but not too sweet, and with a definite drying finish.

From a can.
The aroma is the pale malt character. A touch of hops, very light indeed. And there is a slight toast note.
The can shows some foam upon opening but the pour remains good with a golden clear and watery looking body and white head with a bit of foaminess.
Taste is a nice mix of pale malt with a clear corn cut. Dries out nicely with a soft bitterness. Small bits of hop flavor round this out nicely. As it warms it takes on a toasted corn flavor that is quite nice.
Properly moderately thin with enough carbonation to approach a lager feel.
Has a crushing aspect with the small abv and thirst quenching aspect. A solid piece if brewing.
