From a 12oz can purchased at the brewery - I had it on tap at the brewery on 11-4-23 also.
Clear amber pouring beer. When I hold it to light, I don't see any carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head that formed was 1 finger, and somewhat off white. The head isn't too long lasing, and dissipates to a ring around the edge of the glass.
The nose is very pleasing. Smells like a scotch ale. Nice strong caramel notes, and I get somewhat of a woody aroma in the mix. Hints of vanilla and toffee show up in the aroma as well.
Taste - Lots more toffee than the nose suggested. I get some caramel, oak notes, and vanilla as well. Hint of a nuttiness that shows up. There's a good deal of bitterness on the back, and I don't remember that from when I had it on tap. I checked and I didn't mention it in my UT review. Not sure if it came from the canning process, but it's not too pleasing.
The bitterness does linger in my throat, and not a pleasing feeling. Overall probably a good body.
Boy, I liked this on tap at the brewery, but, in the can, it's a big let down. Not sure of what happened, but not liking it as much.
