Fenceline is a hopped-up American Pale Ale. By pushing nearly all the hop additions to the end of the boil and dosing the beer with even more hops in the fermenter (a technique called “dry hopping”), this mild-mannered pale ale is bursting with hop character. A blend of Chinook and Columbus hops meld well to provide bright hoppy notes with an interesting array of citrus in both the flavor and aroma.

12 oz can into a Becker glass.
L: SRM 12 pours straw amber caramel color with a thin off white creamy head, lush fine carbo, very good head retention down to edge foam, medium webbed one-side lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, lightly floral, hard candy.
T: Taste follows aroma plus black tea, cookie dough, a suggestion of distant cocoa, an autumn leaf halo, a bit tangy, crisp apple, pear, pine resin, sweet citrus. It is lightly pale.
F: Smooth, almost creamy medium bodied mouthfeel with a smooth center and a medium length finish that is fairly dry.
O: This brew is like a beautifully muted IPA. Fruity yet malty. Finishes a tad bit dry. It is gently sweet and lightly pale and it is very good in its style.

12oz can. No dating information found.
Clear, medium amber colored body. One finger of white head. Full wall of lacing on the non-drinking side of the glass.
Aroma has the toasted malts but is missing on the hops. Just a bit of citrus.
Taste is much better balanced between the lightly toasted malts and the hops. The hops bring some good bitterness and the pine and citrus flavors. Also caramel and toffee close to the end. The bittering and fruity hops extend into the aftertaste.
More than medium mouth feel. Has a little syrup quality. Very good carbonation.
Lacking in the nose, but taste and appearance rise above to make a good drinking experience.

Pours a clear copper color with a good khaki head. Smell is caramel, toffee, citrus with baked bread. Taste follows nose with a good amount of citrus hops . Mouth feel has some pine bitterness with malt in the finish. A classic Pale Ale.

Appearance- Light-Dark amber with one finger head.
Smell- citrus, pine and caramel, pine and citrus.
Taste- I asked twice if this was Surly Furious. Maybe not quite as citrus-hoppy as Furious, but very close.
Mouthfeel- Excellent. Maybe a little light but good feel.
Overall- Fenceline is VERY good beer considering. Maybe I got a good batch, but this stuff was amazing. I was anti-jackpine brew before I tried it. I am a convert. They put out good beer period.

Appearance- Reminds me of the look of Sweet Child of Vine. Very cloudy and murky. Not something I'm looking for in an APA.
Smell- I didn't get much hop aroma smell at all. Almost smelt like a cider beer.
Taste- Hop forward for a brief second and then fades quickly into a apricot taste at the end.
Mouthfeel- It was okay, nothing really going on.
Overall- I really wanted to like this beer (not just because i got a growler) we have some awesome APA in Mn these days so i hold them to a high standard. The seasonal beer they had on tap was Barbwire. They called it Fenceline's bigger brother. I absolutely loved Barbwire and remained me nothing of Fenceline. They must be adopted.
