If you like high ABV brews this one's for you. Nominal head on pour, scent of wine; a filling beer.

L:. Pours a muddy red brown with a khaki tan head that dissipates quickly.
S:. Lots of syrupy molasses, brown sugar, toffee, mix with notes of bourbon, smells fairly sweet. Also a note of raisen and cherry.
T:. Molasses, brown sugar, toffee and caramel, mix with a touch of tart cherry and vanilla from the Bourbon, alcohol is very noticeable in this beer.
F:. You can definitely notice the effect of the wheat here, this beer is smooth and drinkable and doesn't have as much bite in the back end as a barleywine.
O:. Not an elite wheatwine but overall a nicely done wheat wine.

Pours a dark and deep brown with a finger of yellow-khaki foam. Head retention is solid. Aroma is big notes of molasses, toffee, char, burnt sugar, caramel, syrup and roasty, toasty, nutty, caramely malts. Really deep and expressive aroma which just skirts over sweetness thanks to a little alcohol bite at the end. Flavor profile is toffee, molasses, chocolate, caramel, char and toasty, roasty, nutty and caramely malts. A hint of barrel sweetness and char rounds out the flavor profile with a touch of bourbon heat at the finale. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a velvety creaminess that smothers the tongue with favorable texture. Overall, lots going on, yet still refined and focused. Very enjoyable.

Excellent wheatwine. Absolutely love sitting down for the evening and sipping this beer.
It pours a nice dark carmel color with a small head. The smell is inviting and luxurious. The taste doesn't let you down. It's full but not overpowering. As a wheatwine should be, it is very sweet and reasonably thick feel

I have a sweet tooth so this was right up my alley. It's like chocolate with brown sugar and a kick like no other.

On tap. Pours a hazy golden color with a one finger, white head that recedes moderately and leaves a ring of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, bourbon, with grain. Taste is bourbon, wheat, and citrus with a heavy booze aftertaste. Low carbonation and medium-full body with strong alcohol presence.
It's something unique that must be sipped. The bourbon barrel aging and ABV are in your face and waving their flag loud and proud. The bourbon takes over the nose and alcohol takes over the finish. I like the body and taste but the aftertaste overwhelms and obliterates the like I have for the body of the beer. I would love to try it pre-bourbon barrel, but that's a fantasy beer that's never going to be released.

Elegant; to be sipped. Interesting. However, I am not a fan of this style. I have had this twice now, and second time was less favorable than first. Again, I think it is just the style for me that is off-putting. Wheat wine. Barleywine. TASTE does not deliver. 17.0% ABV....this one was 13.0
