Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: medium golden hue with plenty of haze and a thick three-finger head of frothy ivory foam. Nice!
Smell: sweet malt with a floral, slightly tropical hop aroma. Not … bad, but just kinda odd.
Taste: a bit sweet, like the aroma, with a somewhat tropical flavor (passionfruit is mostly what I’m getting), along with just a bit of that floral character from the aroma. Again, it’s not bad, per se, but maybe just not quite my thing.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: kind of an odd duck, but not too bad.

Picked this up at Walmart in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma when I was out that way not too long ago as I never had anything, nor had heard of, Anthem before finding this. Loved the label and although IPA's are very common in these parts, I wanted to give it a go to see how it measured up. This wasn't bad as it had plenty of body, flavor, and a green mouthfeel that was reminiscent of something from this neck of the woods, as it was an easy sipper from start to finish!
Hazy and golden, this was topped off with plenty of uneven head that never fully settled down. Nicely-defined rings of lacing were left behind although they weren't quite even or level. A good amount of blueberry, gooseberry, green, and deep stone fruit were in the nose as a nice amount of melon and dewy forest came through in the taste. If you like your beers with the feel of Mosaic and Galaxy, you've round your Sooner State counterpart here as this was nicely dank without being overly strong or boozy!
A good amount of carbonation kept this light as a mild warming effect took hold and complemented everything else going on here. Canned on 6/10 with "PROPHETS" written above it, this wasn't on par with the heavyweights here in this neck of the woods but would be a good choice for those unable to obtain highly-ranked takes of this style. No sediment here and no signs of age as this held up well, as this was a lovely first impression from Anthem!

Pours a somewhat Hazy gold with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head. Great lacing & slightly above average head retention
S: Blueberry? Pineapple, grapefruit, once warm
T: Follows the nose, green melon & tangerine, plus dryness up front, a little grassyness as well. Dryness, pomelo & a little sour blueberry & grapefruit as this warms. Finishes with pink grapefruit, green melon & dryness
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation
A little disjointed, but pretty drinkable none the less
