Our most award-winning beer ever! This delicious porter won a SILVER medal at the 2016 World Beer Cup, BRONZE medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival and has nice notes of roast, chocolate and coffee with a hint of spice from the rye.

This beer pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee and a hint of spiciness. A little bitterness from middle to finish. I'm not big into porters but this one is pretty decent. Rated 2-6-2024 32 IBUs

12 oz single can from Roth's in West Salem
99 cents. No longer states that there is rye on the label.
Very dark brown , almost mahogany body wit a really nice thick and frothy beige head.
Aroma is pleasing, semi-dark chocolate and fresh brewed coffee..some dark fruits an roasted barley.
Taste is very similar to the aroma..more coffee roast and some toasted barley.
Mouth feel is as expected from a 5% porter..semi dry finish.
A really nice drinkable proper porter.

On tap at Brick House with Jordyn outsider on the patio. Never had a rye Porter. Very nice interesting flavor. Wouldn't say it would be a favorite, but was very glad to try and taste this!

Dark reddish brown brew with plenty of foam. Best feature is the lovely creamy carbonation, I don't know how they do it. Aroma is quite odd, and while suitably "beery" it's more like something with dark baked vegetables. The flavor is scorched biscuits chased with a mouthful of arugula.
This beer is the textbook case for an overdose of rye. I absolutely recommend it for educational purposes, but you can only drink so much of this. Always happy to try something new (or old, in this case) from Loowit. From the 22 oz bottle purchased in Bellingham.

This is a typical porter, for the most part. It's light in body, but well within what I'd consider normal for porters. The roasted malts have some coffee character and a little cocoa. The rye is definitely there, but it's not pronounced. Nicely done.

Served in Nonic. Poured a solid black color, very stout-ish, with 1/2 inch of light brown head that had good retention and lacing.
The aroma was very rich roast malts, almost coffee-ish.
On the tongue, the roast was very coffee flavored. I don't know if there was actually coffee in the beer, or if the malt was just very roasted.
The body was smooth, although a bit thinner than I look for in the style, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was decent, smooth, but the roast aspect left a slight burnt taste on the finish. Overall, a solid enough brew, try one and make your own decision.

Dark black in the sun. Nice small bubbles in a thin tan head. Great flavor. Not too strong like many porters, but good flavor in a surprisingly thin texture. Rye flavor is great.

This is an outstanding Porter. It pours the darkest brown almost a deep black with a thick creamy head. Smell is neutral, no notable fragrance. Mouthfeel is smooth. Here comes the best part the taste: the roasted barley emanates a chocolate and coffee hinted flavor that is balanced yet full without the use of additional ingredients that are found in a number of porters.
