This beer pours a darker amber color with a medium head. Aroma is citrus and roasted malts. The hop profile doesn't taste like 59 IBUs, though it does have a very nice hop bitterness. This is a clean and crisp beer and quite good for a hoppy red ale. I normally like my IPAs to taste like IPAs and my Red Ale to taste like malt and slightly sweet. I've never been a big fan of NW Red Ales, but this one is different and probably the only NW style Red that I really like.
