This was a nice amber ale with a two finger head and small particles floating in it. Didn't look like ordinary yeast, but it did act like a bottle conditioned ale.
Aroma was of caramel, raisins, and a mix of spices with a little booziness thrown in. It almost smelled like a barrel aged beer.
Taste was caramel, Belgian yeast, and spices including cloves and black pepper. It was also a little doughy.
Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy. It went down easily, and didn't leave a syrupy feeling.
Overall I am not a fan of Belgian ales. But this was a good take on the style, and I have had imports that I did not enjoy as much as this one. Well done.
