Batch 10 or Batch 19. Print is slanted & not all there. Time of canning, but not date. ???
Let sit out for 10 minutes or so, before opening.
Hazy orange, with a little over one finger of off-white head, that leaves a thick ring, and streaky sheet of lacing.
Smell is dank apricot and bready malt. As head dissipates another fruity smell develops , that of.......persimmon...., yeah persimmon(ish), but sharper. Maybe persimmon+peach pit.
Taste is bitter orange (the raw fruit, the one that is made into marmalade) , apricot, but less apparent than in the aroma, and resinous pine. Moderate bitterness. Lurking in the background is an old-school DIPA malt backbone, that is of similar qualities as those types, but less obvious. As it warms, a bready note becomes apparent. Maybe this needs a little more time to meld flavors?
Feel is heavy-medium and juicy, with moderate, very fine, soft-ish carbonation. The palate is left feeling coated. No apparent alcohol , until some internal warming, about halfway through.
Overall, seems a hybrid of old-school DIPA with juicy NEIPA. Has the bitterness and malt backbone of the former, and the frutiness of the latter. The bready aroma detracts slightly, but otherwise, solid.
